This gallery is dedicated for photographs captured using an infrared (IR) filter. The filter blocks out the visible light spectrum that produces the colors we normally see and only allows longer IR wavelengths to pass. Foliage reflects IR light and will show up brighter than water or clear skies, which absorb IR. The result is landscape scenes with an other-worldly look with the contrasting skies, water, grass, and leaves.  Post-processing software allows the photographer to restore and manipulate color, referred to as "false color" images.
